Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is for those who want to get to know more about the flora and fauna of this region, and are planning to stay more than just a night. A reserve of indigenous fynbos vegetation, the idea is to run safari-style drives, walks and rides into the bush to learn about this unique floral kingdom (the smallest and most biodiverse floral kingdom in the world). Accommodation is in one of two lodges; Garden Lodge is the original lodge, and has extremely large stand-alone suites decorated in simple, northern European style and ideal for families. Forest Lodge is newer, and although still northern European in style it is a bit more modern and funky, and suits couples best.
