nDzuti is located in the Klaserie Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park. It’s not as well-known as some of the other reserves in the area and this is its great attraction. There are very few lodges here and so you will see very few other vehicles when out on game drives: it makes it seem like a very wild and remote place. The lodge is wonderful – it’s very simple and small, with just four rooms leading off a large public sitting and dining area with a lovely high ceiling. A shady garden leads out to the deck area and firepit where meals are often taken, overlooking the (usually) dry riverbed towards a waterhole. The welcome is friendly and honest, and the whole experience is a throwback to the traditional origins of safari and a welcome antidote to the increasing legions of luxury lodges with plunge pools, spas and gold taps!
